Dangerous Property

Dangerous property claims involve accidents and injuries caused by dangerous and/or defective property. Dangerous property claims usually involve accidents or injuries that occur while in commercial buildings (i.e., stores or offices), in residences (i.e., homes or apartments), or on public property (i.e., parks or streets). Property can be dangerous for many reasons, including lackadaisical construction, poor maintenance, incorrect signage, dangerous clutter, and more. Two main rules determine responsibility in dangerous property claims: (1) the owner must keep the property safe and (2) the visitor must use the property in a reasonable manner.
